Southampton entertain Liverpool at St Mary’s on Saturday with the return of the premier league after the international break.
The Reds will be hoping to avoid a repeat of last seasons 3-2 defeat by the Saints, for a favourable result as they hope to stay top of the league.
Liverpool are in good form, Jurgen Klopp’s side are playing really good attacking football. The Reds look like they can score in every game, they create a lot of chances to score goals, and to be honest it was no surprise they put six past Watford.
Saturdays 3pm kick-off at the south coast will be a stern test for the Reds. Southampton are a good team that play exciting football and work hard as a unit, the new manager Claude Puel has kept the philosophy of his predecessor Ronald Koeman.
The Reds will have four former Southampton players in their team, Adam Lallana, Sadio Mane, Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne barring injuries. Southampton have the players to make it a tough game for Liverpool if the Reds don’t bring their A-game.
I am looking forward to the game, to see how the Reds cope with the pressure of being top of the league. Liverpool just need to take one game at a time, stay focused and follow the instruction of manager Jurgen Klopp.
