Liverpool’s Victory Over Barcelona Shows How Hard The Team Works As A Unit

Liverpool Vs Barcelona

The Reds performance on Saturday against Barcelona was something for a lot of Reds fans to smile about.

The work-rate of the players, the organisation and the willingness to fight for each other was clear to see for all Liverpool fans. I know this was a friendly, but the Reds looked solid in defence and in attack.

It would not be fair to single out players for praise as they all played really well. However it is impossible not to comment on the Man-Of-The-Match Sadio Mane, he was electric, a real livewire that caused a lot of problems for the opposition, as well as a serious threat in front of goal.

Jurgen Klopp was pleased with his team’s performance and rightly so, the team defended as a unit and attacked as a unit, as well as playing some really good football.

The team looks like a Klopp team, they press the ball high up the pitch unsettling the opponents and forcing the opposition to make mistakes. Without the ball, they work really hard for each other closing down spaces as well as being defensive organised.

The Reds ran out 4 – 0 winners with goals from Sadio Mane, Divock Origi, Marko Grujic and a Javier Mascherano own goal.

Liverpool will need defensive cover for the left-back position as have been stated on numerous occasion, and it is important the club and manager address the problem in this transfer window.

The big worry for Jurgen Klopp are injuries to Daniel Sturridge and James Milner with the first Premier League game against Arsenal in a weeks time.
