The Reds totally out played Chelsea in the first half at Stamford Bridge, you could have easily mistaken Liverpool for the home team, that was how dominant the Reds were.
Chelsea had no answer to Liverpool’s intense style of football in the first half. The Reds’ crisp passing, ball retention and how they pressed and closed down spaces was simply a joy to watch.
Two good goals from Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson wonder-striker gave Liverpool a deserved lead at the break.
In the second half, Chelsea came back into the game and managed to pull back a goal through Diago Costa. The Blues pressed for the equaliser but Liverpool showed how defensively organised they can be as a team.
This win against Chelsea takes the Reds up to fourth place in the league table, but most importantly you can see the confidence and belief in the team, as well as the manager’s football philosophy in action.
Klopp said after the game: “The beginning was brilliant. We played football like hell! It was very intense, very lively, very flexible, our build-up was brilliant in the first half.
“I was really happy with the style of play, and the confidence we had.”
Simply put, the Reds were a delight to watch!
