The Reds fans will be sad to see Kolo Toure leave Anfield this summer, the fans’ favourite did not do enough to convince manager Jurgen Klopp to extend his contract with the club. However, the Ivory Coast international has often expressed his desire to stay at the club.
Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp will aim to improve his defence for next season, he has enquired about the availability of several defenders, which makes it’s hard to see Toure in the manager’s long-term plans for the club.
Klopp will be looking to stamp his authority on the team by bringing in his own players. In the January window he signed Marko Grujic for £5.1m and Joel Matip on a free transfer. The Reds are on the verge of concluding a £4.7m deal for German goalkeeper Loris Karius from Mainz.
In the past week Liverpool has been linked with three very good German defenders, Cologne’s Jonas Hector, Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah and Hoffenheim’s Niklas Sule.
