Joe Allen has been in brilliant form of late and put in another solid performance in midfield against Bournemouth in the Sunday 2-1 away win at Dean Court, a game which the Klopp made ten changes from the previous match. The Welshman had a good game in the centre of the park with Lucas and Stewart alongside him.
Allen, who has just over a year left on his current Liverpool contract will try to convince the club and manager of his qualities by making his football do all the talking on the pitch.
“My focus all season has been on staking a claim. Inevitably there are injuries and suspensions throughout the season so you will get opportunities,” said Allen.
With injuries to club captain Jordan Henderson and German International, Emre Can, two Key midfielders for Liverpool, Allen now has a chance to establish himself as a regular. Manager Jurgen Klopp spoke positively about Allen’s chances of a contract extension.
“He deserves a future here, of course,” Klopp said.
“He is in brilliant shape. We will see what happens but for me it is not the time to talk about his contract now.”
