The 23-year-old German international, Mario Gotze, has struggled to settle down at the Allianz Arena, with speculation of him moving on in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with the player because of his relationship with the current Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. The two worked well together while at Dortmund.
Now Bayern Munich legend Franz Beckenbauer has weighed in with his opinion, and has suggested that the player might not be happy at the Allianz Arena and a reunion with Klopp might be his best option.
Speaking on Sky Deutschland on Saturday, he said:“I would, in his place, go to a place where I feel comfortable.”
“I have the impression that Mario has not felt right in Munich and also has not been understood, so that he could show his full potential.”
“I would in his place go where I am comfortable and follow in the footsteps of Jurgen Klopp.”
That will be good news for Liverpool supporters as Gotze played his best football under Klopp. The fact that the player is said to have enquired about life on Merseyside and the Premier League bodes well for Liverpool.
One thing for sure is that under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool have a manager that has the ability to convey and sell his ideas and the ambition of the club to players he would like sign.
